Thirteen places I’d like to live for a while
My second Thursday Thirteen. I have a feeling like this is gonna become a regular feature on this blog.

.
1. Amsterdam – went there for a weekend with friends a while ago and fell in love with the place, all this water, quirky architecture, nice people, a language I can almost understand and bookshops and cafes galore (no, I am not talking about the coffeeshops and the pot)
2. London – just one word: bookstores
3. Hiddensee – a tiny island off the coast of Germany in the Baltic Sea, I’ve lived there already for 2 years while I was writing my thesis, especially in winter it’s quite isolated and a very relaxing place to be
4. pretty much anywhere in New Zealand – I went there in 2004 for one year and didn’t want to leave again, if I have a home anywhere in the world, it’s there
5. Los Angeles – might be fun for a little while, watching all the craziness going on in this city, though I’m not sure if I could cope with this sunshine all the time
6. Montana – preferably on a ranch with lots of horses
7. Paris – but only when I finally managed to learn french (which will probably never happen)
8. Japan – I met so many great japanese people in NZ that I got quite curious about the whole culture and the country
9. Vancouver – because when I was younger I always wanted to emigrate to Canada and from what I’ve seen of Vancouver in the week I spent there it looks like a nice place to live
10. Sydney – Aussies are fun and Sydney is a great city, and it’s not too far away from NZ
11. Alaska – living my dream of having my own little cabin somewhere in the wilderness and not having to meet anybody for months
12. somewhere in the brazilian rainforest – that’s the biologist in me coming out again
13. Serenity – because I just have to throw in a Firefly reference here somewhere and if I could choose, this is the place where I would want to be

these are all great places. I like how you wrote live for just a little while. London would be great
Hmm…we seem to have the same layout!
Love your list! London is awesome in so many ways. And Paris? Don’t worry about learning French…just go! I’ve been twice, and I’ve found some very nice French people who speak English. It’s an amazing city.
Thanks for visiting me!
I’d love to visit Amsterdam – I’ve visited another area of Holland and really liked it.
I’m a Londoner, so I understand your love of my city.
I went to Japan 6 years ago and loved it. I’ve been thinking of going to live there for 6 months.
This is a great idea for a TT for me as I’m suffering from a bit of wanderlust at the moment. I’d also like to spend some time in South America.
This is a nice TT to think of. I would love to be in Paris and Japan too. I’m intrigued with the Cherry Blossoms.
Hi there! What a nice site you have! Love the colours.
Oh, I’d love to visit London, Paris, Japan, and Australia too! What fun I would have over there!
If I need to make my dreams come true, then I have to start saving from now on. =D
I’d just like to live someplace warm for a while!
Hey, welcome to Thursday Thirteen!
I’ve never heard of some of these places (and not just because I’m not a Firefly watcher); I’ll have to check them out.
Looks like a neat blog; I’ll have to make sure I visit you again. Have a great week!
Thanks Susan.

Looks like I found myself a new hobby.

I have been to Amsterdam, Germany, London and lived in Japan for 11 years…I’d say I love Japan the most, Germany second and London the least. My family is planning to settle in New Zealand after our crazy desert stint! Sometime soon!!
