The Hobbits are among us
Wow. Just wow.
This guy in Wales has built a real Hobbit house for himself and his family. It’s unbelievable. It’s beautiful. It’s fucking fantastic.
And not only does he live in it, lucky bugger, on his website he also explains how he built it, complete with plans (well, sketches really) and photos and all. And all that allegedly for only £3000! That wouldn’t even buy you a decent plot of land in Germany.
Funnily he didn’t build the house like that because he is such a big fan of Tolkien’s books (well, he may well be, he just doesn’t mention it), but for ecological reasons. But whatever the reason, it looks cozy enough for me to wanna move right in.
If I ever should contemplate building my own house, it will be something like this. Obviously this is never gonna happen in Germany, because I am sure there are about 3 gazillion bureaucratic obstacles preventing creativity like this in this country. But if I ever make it back to New Zealand for good I’ll have the plans for such a house in my pocket.
I could totally live in a place like that!
I love that house!! I wouldn’t mind to live in one!
Yeah, me too. And I think there’s no better place than New Zealand to build it. After all, they still got the Hobbiton sets from the “Lord of the Rings” movies standing around in Matamata. But this house looks so much better.
