Some people just wanna see the world burn
And I’m one of them.
Well, maybe not quite the whole world. But this thing just begs to be set on fire, don’t you think?

May I introduce: The Waste Man by Antony Gormley.
Built from household waste (beds, tables, dining chairs, toilet seats, desks, pianos and rubbish) over a time of 6 weeks. Burned to the ground in 32 minutes.

Sweet. Seems like I am not the only one with a penchant for fire. Of course, since this was done by an artist it all had an important message - whatever it was you probably find it on his website.
But who cares anyway? Mainly it was a beautiful fire. Totally worth the work of 6 weeks, if you ask me.
Burn, baby, burn! I love how its raised arm came down halfway through as if it had grown weary of the posture - or given up hope. Charming.

To quote the artist:
Some works are made in wax to be cast in bronze; this was made in domestic waste to be cast in fire.
And, yeah, I know that the Dark Knight quotes are getting a bit out of hand. I’m trying, but I can’t help if it’s in my head all the time …
