No power in the verse can stop me
Looks like being a flan (no, it’s not a typo, it means the same as Browncoat) isn’t all fun and games. Apparently, the fans are not only still fighting to get a second season of Firefly or a sequel to Serenity made, they also organize worldwide screenings of Serenity - not only for their own fun (although that would be reason enough for me to attend one!), but they do it mainly to collect money for Joss Whedon’s favorite charity organization Equality Now.
This whole venture is appropriately called “Can’t stop the Serenity”.
And of course I just love the idea. And of course I am already making travel plans to go to the London screening on June, 23rd. Not only do I get to see one of my current favorite films on a big screen, but I am hoping to meet some fellow Browncoats there, since here in Germany the Firefly-fandom seems to be more or less non-existant. (I always assumed I am surrounded by ignorants here…)
And in July there will be a 2 disc special edition of Serenity released with lots and lots of yummy extras. Yay!
Now I only wish someone would do the same for the “Lord of the Rings” movies…
I haven’t read any of these. But I might do a 13 on books I’ve read, one of these days.
