More randomness
The weather is back to crappy. No surprise there. But since my mom, after making me paint the basement yesterday, threatened to employ my help for gardening work today, I don’t complain. Luckily it’s way too foggy outside to even see the weeds, not to mention that it rained in the night and everything is sogging wet anyway. So I am safe and can stay inside and watch a couple more episodes of 24.
I received more of my books from the ebay auctions in the last few days. Today there was also a bookring in the mail: Joanne Harris “Runemarks”. Because that has to travel on as soon as possible it is the next on the TBR list now, to be started as soon as I am finished with Helen Forrester’s “A Cuppa Tea and an Aspirin”. Or with Julian Barnes’ “Love, etc.”. Whichever I finish first.
I dropped off a couple of hardcover books (Stephen King, Harry Potter, Bill Bryson etc.) at the library yesterday. Seemed like they were very welcome. But then again, hardcover books usually are, because they stand the strain of being read repeatedly better than paperbacks. I didn’t yet tell them of my plans to inundate them with paperbacks later in the year.
I think about starting a photoblog on the side, but I’m not sure what kind of photos to post. Grace suggested pictures from, as she charmingly put it, “my neck of the woods”. But I don’t know if that is so terribly interesting, because although I kinda like it here, it’s certainly not exactly impressive landscape or architecture or pretty much anything. I was more thinking along the lines of posting some of my New Zealand pictures, more to relieve my own homesickness than anything else. What do you think?
By the way: no Thursday Thirteen for me today. I couldn’t think of a topic that wasn’t completely boring. But thanks for stopping by anyway.

NZ photos, why not? I’d love to see them! Always curious what you did there and the places you went to and saw.

The last couple of weekends I’ve taken my camera with me and took some pics of what I notice in Johannesburg which I posted on my LJ site. Nothing that I’m really happy with but it is making me looking closer at this city of so many contrasts. Maybe you should consider that. Beauty and the interesting is often found in the familiar and not in far flung places…LOL

Yeah, post pictures of New Zealand. It’s so beautiful. Maybe you can find a few LOTR locales and reenact scenes from the film, like Pippin lighting the beacons on the mountaintops. Gawd, I’m such a geek…
