Margaret Atwood “Good Bones”
I have finished my first Margaret Atwood book today. As with many other writers I know I should read, I have been having trouble actually getting into Margaret Atwood’s books. I would like to like her, but I didn’t really know where to start. Last year I tried to read “The Blind Assasin” and it bored me to tears. It took me something like 2 weeks to read the first half of it, before I just put it aside forever.
So when I saw this little collection of short stories in the library I picked it up. I used to be not much of a fan of short stories, but lately I have read quite a few good ones by various authors and slowly begin to like the genre. And surprisingly (well, for me at least) I really liked these as well.
Most of them are quite strange, to say the least, and many are a bit too feminist for my taste, but on the whole I really enjoyed them.
A while ago I joined a bookring for “Oryx and Crake” and I am now looking forward to read this as well. Maybe I will yet become an Atwood fan after all.

I haven’t read this one but my favorite Atwood novel is The Handmaid’s Tale followed by Alias Grace. If you want to read another of her books I would recommend those two.
Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll try to find the books you mentioned in my local library.
