Just a Quick NaNo-Update
I know I have neglected this blog awfully in the last few weeks. And I’m not even sorry.
As I said at the beginning of the month, I wanted to take part in NaNoWriMo and try to write a story. And, well, surprisingly I am still doing exactly that. Shocking, I know. I can hardly believe it myself (and, no, that’s not meant to be sarcastic).
As you can see from the little widget in the sidebar, my word count is creeping upwards towards the 50K slowly but steadily. I might even cross the finish line a few days early, even though I am trying not to.
The story itself won’t be finished with 50.000 words anyway, so I will in any case try to go on writing every day all through December at least. Some of us NaNos are already forming a kind of self-help group of addicts, who plan to keep on going together. We’ll see how that works out.
I’m still leery of calling what I do “writing a novel”, because that still sounds bloody pretentious in my ears, even though it is the truth. So, instead, if somebody asks, I am still writing a story for fun, which is equally true.
Everything else in my life, including but not limited to this blog, has been pretty much shoved onto the backburner for this past month. I’ll have to think about getting some kind of balance back in December. But luckily, it’s still November and I don’t have to think about that yet. I’ll just go on writing instead.
