I’m so sick of bloody Harry Potter
I really really don’t wanna hear or see anything about Harry Potter anymore. It’s enough already. I can’t hear it anymore. They actually report about it on the 8 o’clock news meanwhile. WTF?
It’s just a bloody book, ferchrissake. And a bloody movie. Which will probably be just as damn long and boring as all the other movies before, that haven’t even once managed to capture my attention for their entire length despite my repeated efforts.
But get the fuck over it. The Harry Potter books are not the only good books in the world. Likewise the movie. It may all be a very nice money-making machine, but that’s about it. It seems like everybody is looking at HP as the best thing since sliced bread. Sheesh. It’s bad enough that the marketing blokes stoke the hype for all they’re worth – but after all, that’s their worthless annoying job. What makes me cringe is that all the world is actually falling for the hype. Now that deepens my despair about the utter stupidity of humankind considerably.

I just stumbled upon this quote of J.K. Rowling on Amazon.de:
”I am an extraordinarily lucky person, doing what I love best in the world. I’m sure that I will always be a writer. It was wonderful enough just to be published. The greatest reward is the enthusiasm of the readers.”
Yeah, right. The enthusiasm of the readers. Probably she means the enthusiasm for buying any crap that you can print the HP logo on. And I’m sure the fact that she is richer than the Queen by now is just an insignificant detail…
On the other hand you have to hand it to her: that woman has got a healthy business sense. Good for her. As long as there are all those millions of morons who shell out shitloads of money for everything HP-related like good little sheep she won’t ever have to worry again even if she never writes another word. Well done, Ms. Rowling! Bah.

yeah, that damn HP!

Agree, agree. Though I like reading the book, I never became obsessed. I just like reading books. Period. I have not watched any HP movies beside the first two and doesn’t feel the need to do so. I ran to the screening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory though. Cos it’s chocolate. And Depp.
Now maybe if they cast Johnny Depp in HP movies I will sell all my belongings to be the first one to watch it.
@Janet:
I truly wasn’T thinking of you when I wrote that. You’ve got a crush on Snape, so you’re excused for being obsessed. LOL
@Gloria:
Glad to hear I’m not the only annoyed person out there.
I’m afraid, for me it’ll be 10 years or so before I can enjoy the books again as I used to when they first came out.
21 Jump Street…my celebrity crush, Mr. Depp, got his start there.
I also enjoyed ALF, Remington Steele and Hogan’s Heroes!
Thanks for sharing.
Happy TT!
Erm, Jennie, I guess you meant to comment on the post above this, right? Looks like I will have to change the damn template one day if so many people keep getting that wrong…
Squee! yes! yes! yes! I completely agree.
