Etsy Finds – Week 15-2009

posted on Tuesday, April, 7th, 2009 in etsy finds

This week we’re gonna have a soap edition (and probably next week, too, because I just found too many great shops).

I love handmade soaps and there are literally hundreds of soapmakers listed on Etsy. Interestingly, most of them are located in the US and what’s more they usually have horrendously high shipping costs to any other country. Seriously, if I buy a bar of soap for $5, I am bloody well NOT going to pay $12 for shipping. That’s just ridiculous.

It took me quite some looking to find a couple of shops that have more reasonable shipping costs to countries outside of America. We’re talking about the $2.50 to $5 range here.

Here are the first 5 of them:

amethyssoap

Yes, all of this is soap! And when I look at the lists of ingredients I bet they not only look great, but also smell and feel just as well.

Shipping costs outside of America start from as low as $1.80.

Poppy Lane Bath Products

Lots of different soaps and other products in the inventory. The soaps may not look quite as extraordinary as the last ones, but the ingredients sound just as delicious.

Shipping costs around $2.00 outside US.

Northern Naturals

A shop from Yorkshire, England. A smallish inventory (only 10 items listed right now), but what is there looks good.

Shipping outside of the UK $3.00 per item.

Dress Green LLC

Ok, this one is more on the expensive side shippingcost-wise, but I couldn’t resist adding it, because the soaps look and sound awesome (forget the little pictures here, pop over and check out the bigger versions in the shop).

Shipping outside of US $5.75. I told you it’s more expensive.

motherhues

More beautiful soaps with great ingredients. Lovingly created – what more can you ask for?

Shipping to countries other than the US is set at a flat rate of $11 as that is the cost for a flat rate envelope. But they can fit 5-10 bars into that, so that would come out to a bit more than $1 per item, if you order enough bars, which should be easy enough.
